Digital Camera Memory - Buy Lots of Media

When budgeting how much you want to spend on a digital camera, you should set aside at least a hundred dollars, maybe two hundred, just on purchasing media. Most digital cameras nowadays only come with enough media to take a few photos before you have to dump the contents to your computer and/or clear the card. Worse yet, with high-end cameras, you'll be lucky to take one or two photographs at the highest quality with the media that comes with the camera!

You bought your digital camera so you could take lots and lots of pictures. Don't spoil the purchase by being miserly with the memory. Get enough memory so you can take plenty of photos before you have to start backing up and/or clearing images.

Especially with older cameras, if you plan on buying individual media 1 GB or greater, first make sure the digital camera can handle higher media cards.
