SUMMARY: Don't let empty batteries spoil your digital parade photography.
Before a parade begins, be sure to insert into your digital camera the longest-capacity battery (batteries) that you have, and practice changing sets very quickly. During the parade, as you take lots of photos, your power will drain as you keep the camera constantly on.
To help conserve power, consider turning off your LCD and using your electronic viewfinder; the screen is smaller, thus less power is required for the display. Or, if your digital camera uses a standard viewfinder and not the electronic kind, so much the better as this will use up even less power.
