Digital Parade Photography

Get There Early

SUMMARY: Two reasons why arriving early is vital when shooting digital photos of parades.

Planning on taking digital photos of a parade? Be sure to arrive earlier than the rest of the crowd to get a good position, perhaps one you scouted out earlier. Also:

* Arrive early so you can get at the "front of the pack", close to the action. You don't want to have to zoom in as this could affect your aperture or introduce camera shake, and you certainly don't want to shoot over someone's shoulders.

* Find a location where the sun is behind you to help ensure rich, crisp color in your photos.
