Digital Photo Processing - Save Your Original Photos!

SUMMARY: Make sure to save your original digital camera photos before you modify them.

If you're the kind of person that likes to have fun with their digital camera photos, such as using morphing tools, cropping out other people (or your thumb), rearranging your friends' faces so they appear on other peoples' bodies, etc., be sure to save your original images! It's easy to open a photograph in some editing software, make changes, and resave the file without giving the photograph a different name. If you do this with an image that you've already deleted from the camera, you're stuck without the original!

I try to avoid this by burning all images I plan on editing to DVD and an external hard drive before opening any image editing software.
