Don't Always Center Your Subjects SUMMARY: Experiment your subjects' positions in your digital camera viewfinder for more interesting photos. One sign of a novice photographer is the desire to always take their main subjects and directly center them in the picture. While centering a subject sometimes makes the best photo, you should also consider placing the subject slightly off-center. Some people even suggest placing the subject 1/3 away from the center. It's just another way to add variety to your pictures.
