Digital Photography - Weather Issues - May Just Have to Wait

Some digital photographers may try to force a photograph even if the outside lighting conditions don't allow this. Perhaps the day is too cloudy to get vibrant color, or the opposite - a particular photograph may require looking directly at the sun causing the subject's details to be overexposed due to the bright light.

Your camera flash will not help you in all cases, and if you are traveling you may not be able to bring along reflection stands and other equipment to control the lighting. In this situation, you may just have to wait to take the perfect photo. This may require scouting out locations and coming at a different time or date when the weather is more cooperative, waiting until the sun is behind a cloud, or taking photos at dusk or dawn when the sun is at a different location in the sky. All of this should be done to ensure that you take photos with your back to the sun, giving your subjects clearer, more vibrant color.
