Digital Photography - Record Your Settings

Are you a beginner to digital photography and just starting to adjust settings such as ISO film sensitivity, depth-of-field aperture, and shutter speeds? As you take photos, consider recording your settings, as well as current weather and lighting conditions, in a logbook or digital voice recorder. While doing this, bracket your exposures.

By recording your settings and the weather conditions as you take multiple photos, you can quickly learn how changing your settings, even slightly, can greatly adjust the look of your pictures.

Note that some digital cameras and operating systems support the storage and reading of files with EXIF data, allowing you to simply view the properties of any digital photo taken on your computer to determine the ISO, aperture, shutter speed, etc. used to take the photograph.
