Bracketing is Still Important with Black and White Photos

SUMMARY: Bracketing is still important when taking black and white digital photos in tricky lighting situations.

You might think that when shooting photos in black and white (grayscale) that bracketing in difficult lighting situations may not be important. After all, you're only recording gray tones, not actual colors, right?

Actually, bracketing can make a big difference in black and white photos. Pictures can still come out under or overexposed, so adjusting the exposure compensation can have a dramatic effect on your photo. Digital camera adjustments can also alter the contrast between lighter and darker subjects in your photo.
