Digital Photography - Troubleshooting - Don't Always Trust the Frame CounterSUMMARY: Your frame counter only shows an approximation of how many digital photos that can be taken on a particular memory card.
Your digital camera's frame counter tells you how many photos can be taken on a particular memory card before it is full. However, it should not be trusted with 100% certainty. Digital photos, especially when compressed as JPG files, may take up different sizes depending on the picture. Thus, there may be times where a digital camera says you have enough room for 2 more photos, yet only one more can be taken. Likewise, I've had times where with 2 photos 'remaining' on a card I've shot 3 or 4 before filling it up. |
