Planning on taking photos at a sporting event that involves judges, such as gymnastics, skateboarding, or a basketball slam-dunk contest? You may want to consider taking a few digital photos capturing the judges' expressions. These can sometimes tell a story better than a photo of the athlete themselves.

Some trained judges won't show surprise or astonishment after a great play (or the opposite). Others, however, may show such emotions, depending on the event. These types of photos do not get taken as often, since most photographers are usually solely focused on the performance at hand.
