If you are lucky enough to get a professional athlete to sign a ball, program, hat, or whatever, have your digital camera ready. Ask if you can take a quick photo of you standing or sitting next to them. This photograph can help authenticate signatures for non-believing friends, or if you plan on selling an item later - perhaps at a sporting goods story or at an auction (such as eBay).
