| Remove Tourists From Your Photos SUMMARY: How to remove tourists from photos of famous landmarks, either digitally or with flash. Trying to take a photo of a monument, statue, or famous building, and someone always gets in your way?
It's almost impossible to remove everyone near a tourist attraction from your photo. However, one way to try creating a good resulting photo, if you have enough patience (and luck), is to set your digital camera on a tripod and shoot the exact same photo several times over the course of a few minutes. Later, using a digital photo editor that supports layers, you can combine the pictures together, removing people standing in front of your digital camera. Note that if the lighting in your area changes, this may not work.
One other thing you might try. Turn on your flash even if you don't need it to take a shot. Many people think that without flash, you're not taking a photo, but if they see bright lights they're more willing to walk out of the way. Thus, consider taking a quick shot with flash just to get peoples' attention, and then quickly turn flash off when they are out of the way and take your desired photo immediately.
