Digital Travel Photography - Observe 'No Trespassing' Signs

As a photographer you may not want anything to get in your way of taking travel photos. Unfortunately, the world doesn't always see things your way. You may come across many photo opportunities that would require venturing onto clearly marked private property.

While you may think that quickly entering the property, taking your photo, then leaving will not harm anyone, especially in this day and time, think twice before doing so. If a security guard or policeman catches you, depending on local laws, you can be arrested. That photograph is not worth spending a night in jail, is it?

If you wish to take photos on private property, it is always best to get the permission of the property's owner first. Make sure to let them know up-front whether or not your photos are for personal or commercial purposes.
