However, be considerate of the group's wants and wishes when you take photos, especially if the rest of the group is not interested in photography.

Don't stop everywhere you go and constantly make others wait while you meticulously compose and take your shots. Instead, let others know before the trip that you would like to take photos, and most people won't mind occasionally stopping for a picture, especially at popular tourist destinations where everyone else will want to look as well.

Of course, if you travel with others who share your love for digital photography, you probably won't have this problem!
