Ultraviolet Filter and Beaches or Desert

SUMMARY: Two reasons why you should attach an ultraviolet lens filter to your digital camera before traveling to a beach or desert.

Ultraviolet (UV) lens filters, while already are a good idea to bring along when taking digital photos, are especially important if you plan on shooting pictures on the beach or in the desert. Attaching them to your digital camera can help in the following:

1) A UV filter helps protect your lens from damaging sunrays. However, you should still attach a lens cap between photos for maximum protection.

2) A UV filter helps protect your lens from sand or salt that can seriously damage your lens.
