Down a Spiral Staircase

SUMMARY: Shoot digital photos from above a spiral staircase for an interesting effect.

If you happen to travel to a home or building with an elaborate spiral staircase, go to the top and shoot a digital photo pointed down the staircase. Especially in homes or buildings of Victorian-style architecture, this can result in a pleasing photo. Since this is an indoor shot you will need as much available light as possible, and it might require an off-camera flash for best effect (on-camera flash units may not be able to send light all the way down the staircase).
