Look For Creeks and Streams Around a Waterfall

SUMMARY: Creeks and streams provide other great photo opportunities involving flowing water.

Waterfalls are dramatic, and when shot right, make excellent photos. However, don't just take your photos at the point the water is rushing down. Look for creeks and streams around a waterfall for other photo opportunities involving flowing water.

Many detailed photos can be taken by zooming in on areas with rocks, moss, flowers (in the spring), or fallen leaves (during autumn). Plus, one advantage of zooming in is that you'll force your digital camera to use longer shutter speeds, making the water look more 'silky'. For best results, use a tripod with these longer shutter speeds.
