DOS and Batch Files

Backup your Configuration Files

SUMMARY: Keep autoexec.bat and config.sys files backed up if you use older versions of DOS or Windows.

Before you make any major changes or software installations, ALWAYS back up your AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS files. Many software programs will make updates to these files without your permission, potentially causing many problems and errors on your system.
