Easy Duplicate Finder for Windows can help you free up space on your computer by removing duplicate copies of files. The software has options to help prevent against accidental deletion of system and other important files such as DLLs and OCXs, though these options can be turned off by advanced users.

Simply select the folders to search and add them to a queue by clicking the "Add" button, then click a "Start" button to begin the scan. Lists of duplicate files are displayed, colored and grouped together. You can export the list of supposed duplicates to a HTML or text file for further analysis, or select files to rename, move to another folder, place in the Recycle Bin, or delete altogether.

Other options include only looking for duplicate files in a user-specified size range, only searching for files matching a filename mask, and skipping zero-byte files. You can also configure whether or not to compare files by looking at their CRC32 checksum and file sizes, or to perform byte-by-byte file comparisons.

Two versions are available, supporting Windows 95 - Vista (Windows 7 support was not mentioned on the site and not tested for this tip). A portable version is available as a ZIP file, if desired.
