Text Editors - Notepad Replacements

Text Editor with Integrated Web Browser and HTML Toolbar

SUMMARY: EditPlus offers features useful for web programmers such as syntax highlighting, code folding, an integrated browser, and a color picker.

EditPlus is a Windows text editor with multi-document support. The software contains programmer-centric features such as syntax highlighting for HTML, Java, and PHP, and pre-made templates for C/C++, HTML, Java, and Perl files. Files can be previewed in the integrated web browser.

Features include document spell check, an integrated FTP client, code folding, line formatting features such as splitting lines and converting tabs to spaces, find and replace with regular expression support, brace and tag matching, and a cliptext window (view ASCII characters, control characters, and tags for HTML, XHTML, and CSS).

EditPlus contains an HTML toolbar with access to common tags. A color picker inserts the 6 digit hexadecimal RGB codes. Also included is an interactive image picker, an interactive table creator, and a button allowing the insertion of symbols such as copyrights or trademarks.

Configuration features include changing the default fonts and colors, disabling sounds, choosing the default file encoding and type, template and file type options such as syntax colors and the ability to add new templates, and keyboard shortcuts.
