Electronic Mail

Mail Programs and BCC

SUMMARY: Just what does BCC mean?

Do you use an Internet E-Mail program that offers something called BCC? This is called "Blind Carbon Copy". Normally, when you send a piece of E-Mail to more than one person using the "CC" or "Carbon Copy" field, each recipient sees the E-Mail addresses of the other recipients of the E-Mail. If you want to send out E-Mail to many people (no spam!) and do not want each recipient to see who else got the message, add the extra recipients in the "BCC" field.
