Freeware FeedDemon for Windows
SUMMARY: FeedReader is a popular RSS reader with a multitude of configuration options and optional integration with Google Reader.
FeedDemon is a popular freeware RSS reader for Windows that supports synchronizing of subscriptions among multiple computers via Google Reader. The software comes built-in with sample feeds; new feeds can be added manually, imported from an OPML file, or from an external source such as Bloglines or RSS Bandit.
Feeds may be organized into categories. News items may be viewed as full posts, summaries, or headlines. You can also change the theme of the news item "newspaper" with options such as Blue Vista or Outland. Individual news items may be e-mailed, shared via Google Reader, or translated via Google Translate. You can add tags for each item and star important news.
Feeds may be exported as OPML or APML files, or you can export the feed "newspaper" as HTML. The cache folder for news items may be moved, scanned for errors, or compacted as needed. Or, backups may be made.
Configuration options include changing display options (theme, colors, font), adjusting the text size, moving the browser to the right or bottom of the window, adjusting keyboard shortcuts, enabling or disabling sounds, connecting via a proxy, choosing whether to send anonymous usage data, configuring whether or not a desktop alert should appear for new feeds or periodically, and whether or not the application should appear in the System Tray area of the Windows Taskbar.
