SUMMARY: Organize files by renaming them with File Renamer Basic. Filenames can include MP3 tags (ID3v1, ID3v2) or EXIF data.

File Renamer Basic is a free application for Windows that can help organize files and folders on your hard drive by renaming a group of them at once. A variety of options including changing filename case, adding an auto-incrementing number, replacing specific text inside names, adding a portion or the entire date or time, deleting text at specific starting positions, and much more. A "Preview" button lets you see how the rename will occur without actually performing the operation, allowing you to make changes as necessary.

File Renamer supports MP3 tags (ID3v1, ID3v2), allowing you to rename a group of files based on their album name, song name, artist name, year, and/or a combination of these and other tags. You can also rename photos using information from their EXIF tags, allowing you to pull in ISO values, exposure time, focal length, and other information.
