Mozilla Firefox - Plugins and Extensions
Enable Right Click Search for All Installed Search Engines
SUMMARY: When selecting text in Firefox and using the right-click context menu, hunt for the text with any of your installed search engines instead of just the default.
When browsing the web with Mozilla Firefox, by selecting text and clicking the right-mouse button (or equivalent), you can search for the text using your default search engine, normally Google. However, what if you want to search via other installed engines such as Amazon or Wikipedia?
The "Context Search" extension for Firefox adds this capability. Right-click text, select "Search for", and choose one of your installed search engines. Note that while this extension only uses your installed search engines, installing other search engines for Firefox, if desired, is easy to do.
1. Visit the following page from within Firefox:
* "Context Search" Extension for Firefox
2. Click the "Add to Firefox" button.
3. The "Software Installation" dialog box will eventually appear. Click "Install Now" as soon as the button is enabled.
4. Once the add-on has installed, click the "Restart Firefox" button. Depending on your configuration, Firefox may note that it will try to restart your windows and tabs.
