Mozilla Firefox - Plugins and Extensions

Play a Puzzle Game from Virtually Any Browsed Photo

SUMMARY: The Puzzle extension for Mozilla Firefox lets you right-click almost any browsed picture and play a puzzle game with various levels of difficulty.

While there are various companies who will create puzzles from your digital photos, what if you just want to play an online puzzle game from your digital photos? If you have uploaded photos to Flickr or another service, or perhaps you have found another photo on the Internet that you would like turned into a puzzle, you're in luck.

The "Puzzle" extension for Mozilla Firefox lets you turn nearly any image on the Internet or your hard drive into a puzzle game. For variety, you can choose from normal or four other image sizes, adjusting the difficulty with 1-15 horizontally and vertically placed blocks.

1. Visit the following page from within Firefox:

* "Puzzle" Extension for Firefox

2. Click the "Add to Firefox" button.

3. The "Software Installation" dialog box will eventually appear. Click "Install Now" as soon as the button is enabled.

4. Once the add-on has installed, click the "Restart Firefox" button. Depending on your configuration, Firefox may note that it will try to restart your windows and tabs.

5. To create a puzzle from Firefox, either browse the Internet or your local hard drive for a photo. Right-click the photo and choose "Puzzle - image size" from the pop-up menu. Then choose to either use the original size, or use one of four other sizes:

* Very big
* Big
* Medium
* Small

6. The web page will be replaced with just the image and a dialog. Choose how difficult you want the puzzle to be by selecting the number of horizontally and vertically placed elements (blocks); the more blocks, the harder the puzzle.

7. Click "Normal Mode" to play the game in the browser, or "Full screen Mode" if desired.
