Mozilla Firefox - Plugins and Extensions

Jump Between Search Engines with One Click

SUMMARY: The Quick Search Bar extension for Mozilla Firefox adds a row of buttons in the Navigation Toolbar allowing you to search multiple engines with ease.

Do you often use multiple search tools in a Mozilla Firefox browsing session, but tire of clicking on the pull-down to choose between the engines?

The "Quick Search Bar" extension adds a row of search engines to the Navigation Toolbar, allowing you to switch between engines with a single click.

1. Visit the "Quick Search Bar" page.

2. Click the "Download Now" button.

3. Firefox may warn that it has prevented the site from installing software on your computer. If so, click the "Allow" button.

5. Firefox will prompt that the extension will be installed after restarting Firefox. Click the "Restart Now" button to do so now. Or, if you need to continue work online, the extension will be installed later.

After Firefox restarts, you should note that the standard Search Bar has been replaced with the Quick Search Bar extension. To search the web or a site/service, click on the appropriate icon, type your search query, and press Enter. For example, the screenshot on the right shows a user searching Wikipedia.
