Mozilla Firefox

Find Text on the Current Webpage

SUMMARY: Search the currently open webpage for text matching your search query using Mozilla Firefox.

Has this ever happened to you when browsing the web in Mozilla Firefox: After searching Google or your favorite search engine for a particular keyword or phrase, a webpage comes up, you click it, and then you cannot see the keyword or phrase in the resulting page? If so, try searching for that text within the particular page.

To search for text within a webpage, press CONTROL-F or choose "Edit" - "Find in This Page". On the bottom of the Firefox window, type in the text you want to find and Firefox will highlight the first instance of it on the page.

* Click the "Find Next" button to highlight the next instance of the keyword/phrase. Or, press CONTROL-G. Or, select "Edit" - "Find Again".

* Click "Find Previous" to find the previous instance

* Highlight all instances on the page by pressing the "Highlight" button.

* Normally, if you search for "google", Firefox will also find words in different cases, such as "Google" or "GOOGLE". If you want to match the case of your search, check the "Match case" box.

* When done, press ESC to cancel your search.
