| Display Text in the Toolbars for New Users SUMMARY: Make Mozilla Firefox even easier to use for newbies by labeling toolbar icons.
Normally, when using Mozilla Firefox, the toolbars only display icons to frequently accessed features. To stop a web page from loading, click the red circle with an X. To access your home page, click the house.
While these icons are recognizable to frequent browser users, others may have difficulty remembering what each icon does. If you are setting up a machine for a new user, consider giving them text descriptions of each icon so they can more easily learn how to use Mozilla Firefox.
1. Click "View" - "Toolbars" - "Customize"
2. When the "Customize Toolbar" dialog box appears, click the pull-down next to "Show". Here, you can choose to show:
* Icons and Text * Icons * Text
As you make your selection, the toolbars will change, reflecting your settings.
3. When finished, click the "Done" button.
