SUMMARY: Query search engines, dictionaries, encyclopedias, or other data sources from Mozilla just by right-clicking text.
Need to quickly find the definition of a word used on a webpage, but don't want to have to jump back and forth between an online dictionary? The DictionarySearch extension for Mozilla Firefox adds a new menu item in the right-click (or OPTION-click, depending on your operating system) popup menu.
After installing DictionarySearch, simply double-click a word that you want defined, right-click (or OPTION-click) and select "Dictionary search for WORD". Mozilla Firefox will open up a new tab with the definition from Dictionary.com.

EXPERT TIP:
After installing DictionarySearch, you might want to add other options to your popup menu to search other dictionaries, search engines, encyclopedias, websites, or the like. To do so:
1. Select "Tools" - "Extensions".
2. When the "Extensions" dialog box appears, Click "DictionarySearch".
3. Click "Options".
4. When the "Dictionary Search" dialog appears, Next to "Dictionary 2" (or 3, or 4), enter the following:
* Text: Text you want displayed in the popup menu. $ will be replaced with the double-clicked word.
* Access key: This key will be underlined in the popup menu.
* URL: Direct link to a website's search feature. $ will be replaced with the double-clicked word.
For example, if you want to add a right-click feature called "Search Ask Jeeves for 'WORD'", enter the following next to Dictionary 2:
Text: Search Ask Jeeves for "$"
Access Key: G
URL: http://web.ask.com/web?q=$
5. Click "OK" to close the DictionarySearch dialog.
6. Click "X" to close the "Extensions" dialog.
Now, double-click a word. Right-click, and you will see an option "Search Ask Jeeves for WORD". Select this option and Ask Jeeves query results will open in a new tab.
EXPERT TIP 2:
You're not limited to one-word queries. Highlight multiple words and right-click, and you can search for a multiple-word query on Dictionary.com or other site you define.
