Mozilla Firefox - Security and Privacy - Clear Your Website Browsing History

SUMMARY: Quickly clear the Mozilla Firefox website history without disabling it altogether.

Need to clear your history of browsed websites in Mozilla Firefox without disabling the history list altogether? (Note that you can also disable the History feature in Mozilla Firefox.)

1. Select the "Tools" - "Clear Private Data" menu item.

2. The "Clear Private Data" dialog box appears. Make sure "Browsing History" is checked, and check or uncheck other items as appropriate. Then click the "Clear Private Data Now" button.

If the "Clear Private Data" dialog box does not appear you may have configured Firefox to not prompt you before clearing private data. In this case make sure the browsing history will be cleared when you click the "Clear Private Data" menu item:

1. Click "Tools" - "Options".

2. When the "Options" dialog box appears, click "Privacy".

3. Underneath "Private Data", click the "Clear Now" button.

4. When the "Clear Private Data" dialog box appears, check "Browsing History". Check or uncheck other options as appropriate if you wish to clear other browsing data.

5. Click "Clear Private Data Now".

6. Click "OK" to close the "Options" dialog box.
