Mozilla Firefox - Searching - More Keyboard Shortcuts for Search

SUMMARY: Even more Mozilla Firefox searching shortcuts

In Mozilla Firefox, sometimes you need to search inside a webpage to find text. This is useful, for example, if you view a webpage found in a search engine's results but you can't see where the page matched your desired text. This is explained further in the tip Find Text on the Current Webpage.

Instead of pressing Ctrl+F, there are two other keyboard shortcuts:

* Press the apostrophe (') to Quick Find hyperlinks only. When you type, only matching text inside hyperlinks is selected.

* Press the slash (/) key to Quick Find. When you type, matching webpage text is selected, whether or not it is inside a hyperlink.

Note that if your mouse is focused on a textbox or a form element (radio button, etc.), these shortcuts may not work.

This tip was written for Mozilla Firefox v3.0.1. Screenshots and instructions for other versions may vary.
