Mozilla Firefox - Plugins and Extensions

Play Card Games in Your Browser

SUMMARY: Play Aces Up, Canfield, Klondike, Spider, and other games from within Mozilla Firefox.Bookmark and Share

Looking for something to do while Mozilla Firefox is downloading a file or application? Or maybe you're just looking for a quick diversion from browsing the web. If so, Stephen Clavering has created a "Cards" extension for Mozilla Firefox that lets you play the following solitaire games and more in the browser:

* Aces Up
* Canfield
* Klondike
* Montana
* Pyramid
* Spider
* Yukon

To install the "Cards" extension:

Note that most extensions are from third party developers. Installation and use of extensions are solely at your own risk.


1. Select "Tools" - "Add-Ons".

2. The "Add-Ons" dialog box appears. Click the "Get Add-ons" button.

3. In the search box, type cards and press the magnifying glass.

4. The "Cards" extension is displayed. Click the "Add to Firefox" button.

5. The "Software Installation" dialog box will eventually appear. Click "Install Now" as soon as the button is enabled.

6. Once the add-on has installed, click the "Restart Firefox" button. Depending on your configuration, Firefox may note that it will try to restart your windows and tabs.

Once Firefox has restarted, play solitaire by clicking "Tools" - "Cards". Note you may need to manually resize the window and select a new game for this extension to display correctly.

This tip was written for Mozilla Firefox v3.0.4. Screenshots and instructions for other versions may vary.
