Mozilla Firefox - Misc

Change How Links That Request to Open in New Windows Will Appear

SUMMARY: Some webpage hyperlinks automatically open up in new windows. Configure how Mozilla Firefox handles this issue.

When browsing the web in Mozilla Firefox, you may have noticed that some websites have links that automatically open in new windows. This is done in some circumstances where the webmaster feels it useful for the original site to stay open while the user browses the target site.

If you wish to change Mozilla Firefox's behavior when encountering such links, do the following:

1) Select "Tools" - "Options".

2) When the "Options" dialog box appears, click the "Tabs" button.

3) Check "Force links that open new windows to open in".

4) Choose one of the following radio buttons as desired:

- "the same tab/window as the link"

- "a new tab"

5) When you are done, click "OK" to save your settings and close the dialog box.
