Mozilla Firefox - Security and Privacy Ignore SSL 2.0 SUMMARY: Prevent Mozilla Firefox from securely communicating with sites using an old protocol. SSL 2.0 is a less-secure version of SSL that some older websites may use when conducting transactions over https. Since SSL 2.0 is not as secure as SSL 3.0, you may wish to prevent Mozilla Firefox from ever attempting to use this protocol, knowing that it may mean you cannot use older "secure" websites. 1) Select "Tools" - "Options". 2) When the "Options" dialog box appears, click the "Advanced" button. 3) Click the "Security" tab. 4) Underneath "Protocols" uncheck "Use SSL 2.0". 5) Click "OK" to save your settings and close the dialog box.
