Should I Virus Scan Commercial Software?
This tip is not trying to make you paranoid. Just about every piece of software that you buy nowadays, especially from larger companies, has been checked, double-checked, and triple-checked by virus scanners. BUT... there have been a couple of rare cases of software being distributed with viruses. If you are extremely anxious to install your new word processor or play your latest game, slow down. Go ahead and virus scan your disk or CD just in case. It only takes a few minutes to do so and can help give you some peace of mind.
