Do Not View Pictures Provided by Contacts

SUMMARY: Prevent contacts' pictures in Gmail from appearing, substituting your chosen pictures (if any).

Depending on your Gmail configuration, when you display contact information, pictures provided by your contacts may appear.

For various reasons, such as some contacts' pictures being NSFW (Not Safe For Work), you might rather turn these pictures off, only displaying pictures that you directly assign to particular contacts, if any. Making this change is easy:

1. Click the "Settings" link near the top-right of Gmail.

2. When the "Settings" page appears, make sure the "General" tab is selected.

3. Underneath Contacts' pictures, click the Only show pictures that I've chosen for my contacts radio button.

Only show pictures that you have chosen for your Gmail contacts

4. Click the "Save Changes" button.
