Use Your Own Colors for Gmail
SUMMARY: Tired of the default Gmail theme colors? Use your own to personalize Gmail.
While Google's Gmail has a variety of themes you can use to skin the application, did you know that if none of them are to your liking, you can choose your own colors? Unlike other methods of customizing Gmail, this requires no browser add-ons.
1. Click the "Settings" link near the top-right of Gmail.
2. When the "Settings" page appears, click the "Themes" link.
3. A list of themes appears. At the bottom you should see a box labeled "Choose your own colors" - click it.
4. From here a new window appears. Click on a section such as the main background, box or box content, button bar, etc. and a popup with color palettes appears. Click on the colors as desired to change the main background text color, main background link color, box background and text colors, message text colors, etc. If you don't like the colors in the palettes, click the plus-sign underneath a palette to choose your own color, and you can even enter a 6-digit hex color manually.
5. When done, click the "Save" button to store your changes, then the "Close" button to close the new window.
Return to the Google Gmail page.
