Google Gmail - Change Your Name When Sending E-Mail

SUMMARY: Use a nickname or your business's name when sending e-mail from Gmail.

Normally when you send e-mail from Gmail, your e-mail's "From" name is the name you used to signup for the service. However, if you'd rather use the name of your business or your favorite nickname, you can make this change.

(Note that this tip was written June 13, 2005, and Gmail's interface is subject to change.)

1. Sign onto Gmail.

2. Click "Settings" on the top-right of the Gmail webpage.

3. When the "Mail Settings" page appears, click "General".

4. Next to "Name", click the "Use a business name or nickname" radio button.

5. Next to the radio button, enter the name you wish to use.

6. Click "Save Changes".
