Google Gmail - Auto-Forward Your Email

If you use multiple email accounts or plan to be away from your computer for a while, you can forward all of your Gmail e-mail to another account such as one readable via a portable digital assistant. To do so:

(Note that this tip was written June 13, 2005, and Gmail's interface is subject to change.)

1. Sign onto Gmail.

2. Click "Settings" on the top-right of the Gmail webpage.

3. When the "Mail Settings" page appears, click "Forwarding and POP".

4. Next to "Forwarding", click the radio button "Forward a copy of incoming mail to".

5. Enter the e-mail address to forward mail to next to the radio button.

6. Gmail will keep a copy of your mail in its Inbox. If you want to change this behavior so Gmail either archives or trashes the e-mail after it has been forwarded, click the pull-down underneath the aforementioned radio button.

7. Click "Save Changes" when you are done.

Press the "print" button on your browser or select "File" - "Print" to print this tip. Then, return to Google Gmail - Auto-Forward Your Email
