SUMMARY: If you need to recall certain Gmail messages quickly, mark them as important with a star.
Want to mark certain e-mail in your Gmail Inbox as having added importance? A note from your boss, homework instructions from a professor, or directions to a relative's house? To do so, you can give those messages a "star", making them easier to recall at a later time.
(Note that this tip was written June 13, 2005, and Gmail's interface is subject to change.)
Click the blue star next to an important message and the star will light up. Now, if you want to only look at your important, or "starred", messages, click the "Starred" link on the left side of your Gmail window. Only those messages deemed important will appear.
