Depending on your needs, when looking at e-mail messages in your Gmail inbox, you can either display just the subjects of messages or message subjects and snippets of the messages. While only showing message subjects may provide a cleaner display in Gmail, showing mail snippets can help you decide whether or not you need to open a particular e-mail message immediately or if it can wait. 1. Sign onto Gmail. 2. Click "Settings" on the top-right of the Gmail webpage. 3. When the "Mail Settings" page appears, click "General". 4. Next to "Snippets" click the "Show snippets" or "No snippets" radio button as desired. 5.
