Google Image Search - Limit Searches to a Particular Domain

SUMMARY: Only show matching images from Google Image Search that are hosted on a specified website.

When performing Google Image Search queries, you often may find yourself scrolling through pages of unusable results, looking mainly for images contained on particular sites. When searching for photos relating to breaking news, your best results may come from newspapers, TV stations, and blogs. Photos of athletes often can be found by querying the league's site. And screenshots of computers, phones, and other devices may be found at the manufacturer's homepage.

Instead of searching the entire web, you can limit Google Image Search to look for pictures contained on a particular site. Here are two ways to do so:

A) Advanced Search Page

1. From Google Image Search, click the "Advanced Image Search" link.

2. Next to "Domain Return images from the site or domain", enter the site or domain name that you wish to query.

3. Finish your query, and then click "Google Search" to see your results.

B) Search Query Modifier

1. When performing a search query, add the site: modifier, modified by the site/domain you wish to query. As examples:

Lebron James pictures on the NBA's website: lebron james site:nba.com

Bill Clinton images on CNN: bill clinton site:cnn.com

iPhone images direct from Apple: iphone site:apple.com

Note that you may see some domains in the search results other than the domain for which you are searching. This is because these domains are using pictures hosted on the site for which you are searching. For example, some sites may be using Lebron James images hosted on nba.com, and these other domain names may appear in the search results.
