Clear Your Search History

SUMMARY: For privacy, clear the Google Earth history of places you have searched.

In Google Earth, in the left pane Sidebar you will notice the "Search" section. When you click on the pull-down buttons next to the query boxes you can view a list of your most previously-accessed searches, such as Fly-To searches, Business searches, and Directions Searches.

Many people find this history convenient in that they can quickly return to a location they recently queried without having to re-key the information. Others might find this feature a potential privacy violation, especially if they share their computer with others.

Clearing the search history is a multi-step process.

1. Select "Edit" - "Clear Search History".

2. While this clears the history when you click the pull-down arrows, underneath the search box you will find a different list containing a history of searches. Check the box next to each search.

3. Now, underneath this history, click the "X" to clear the searches. See the screenshot below for an example.
