There may be times where it is useful or necessary to research news items as reported by a particular state or country's magazines, TV stations, and newspapers. Perhaps you are looking for a particular state's spin on a national event, or you may want local coverage of an event beyond that provided by the major national outlets such as CNN or USA Today. Or, a particular country's look on a news item with international implications may be desired. To do this:

1. Access Google News at http://news.google.com/.

2. Above the search box, click "Advanced News Search".

3. When the "Advanced News Search" page appears, enter your desired state or country name next to "Return only articles from news sources located in".

4. Enter your search query next to "Find results".

5. Click "Google Search".
