Google News - Search for News Items Published within a Particular Range of Dates

Researching a news story and need to find articles published within a particular range of date? Using the Google News tool you can restrict your searches to news stories published within the last few days or those written during a particular time period.

1. From Google News, click "Advanced News Search".

2. When the "Advanced News Search" page appears, click one of the following radio buttons next to "Date":

- "Return articles published". Now click the pull-down to choose from articles published anytime, within the last hour, day, week, or month.

- "Return articles published anytime between". Now, select the pull-downs to choose the date range.

3. Enter your search query next to "Find results".

4. Click "Google Search".

For even older articles perform a Google News archive search.
