Google News - Display International News

SUMMARY: Display news stories from around the world on a targeted Google News page.

This tip was written on September 7, 2006. The Google News interface is subject to change.

When accessing Google News to search for news stories, Google will attempt to redirect you to a news page customized to your country. It does this based on your IP address, so if you are accessing Google News in Australia, for example, you should see the top stories that Google News has for Australians.

This determination may not work 100% of the time. Also, if you are a native of a different country from where you happen to be accessing Google News at the time, you will see news customized to the current country where you reside, not your country of origin.

While you can query Google News to only display results from a particular state or country, what if you wish to change the Google News front page?

A) Next to "Top Stories" click the pull-down and choose your desired location.

OR

B) On the bottom of the Google News page you should see hyperlinks directing you to news pages for multiple countries. Choose the link to your desired country.
