HijackThis

Log Analysis

SUMMARY: The following websites provide automated and community-based HijackThis log file analysis.

After creating a HijackThis log, you may need to have it analyzed in order to determine whether or not you have real malware on your machine. Note that HijackThis lists many false alarms by design, so you should not just remove everything you see.

Here are a few possible options. Note that the first two websites are listed for INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY and are not under control by Envision Programming!

* HijackThis log file analysis

This is a completely automated tool where you can send the website a copy of your HijackThis log and it will provide analysis of your log file. Note this tool is not guaranteed to be 100% complete and may not know if every item in your list is spyware or not, but it's a start.

* HijackthisLogs.com

This is a message board where HijackThis logs can be posted and analyzed. BE SURE to read all posts with the subject of "Read first before posting".

* MalekTips Forums

If you cannot find help in either of the above locations, you may wish to try the MalekTips Forums. Note that these forums do not specialize in the discussion of HijackThis logs but someone may be able to answer your questions.
