Display Urban Legends, Even About Thanksgiving
SUMMARY: Display some of the most recently added urban legends from Snopes on your iGoogle page.
Happy Turkey Day, everyone (Happy Thanksgiving)! As you probably know, one tradition in the United States right before Thanksgiving is for the president to pardon a turkey (or two). This Turkey Presidential Pardon started with President Harry Truman, back in 1947.
Or did it? Perhaps before you believe everything you hear (or read, or see), you may want to check out the Snopes website (previously mentioned before in MalekTips including in article "Is it a Hoax or is it Real?"). One way to display urban legends is via the "New Urban Legends" gadget you can add to your iGoogle page.
This gadget displays three recent headlines; click the "+" next to an item to expand it, and click a link to view the story in a new tab / browser window. Gadget options allow you to display up to 9 headlines or automatically expand the lead story (there is also a slideshow mode but this isn't too useful as the feed does not seem to normally contain images).
