SUMMARY: Use an Internet Explorer 8 Accelerator to search Amazon merely by highlighting product names and performing a couple of clicks.
Internet Explorer 8 has an Amazon search provider you can install to visually search the e-commerce site. However, what if you visit other e-commerce or product review sites and find products that you want to search on Amazon? Even with the provider you would have to type or copy the name into the search box and manually perform the search.
With an accelerator you can merely highlight a product name and perform an Amazon search inside Internet Explorer with just a couple of clicks:
1. From Internet Explorer, visit the following URL:
http://www.ieaddons.com/en/details/searchhelpers/Amazoncom_Search/
2. Click the "Add to Internet Explorer" button.
Adding the "Amazon.com Search" Accelerator to Internet Explorer 8
3. Confirm the Accelerator information is correct. If you want this to be the default Accelerator for the "Find" category, meaning you do not have to go through a second step of accessing an "All Accelerators" submenu, click the "Make this my default provider for this Accelerator Category" box. Then click the "Add" button.

Now when you visit a webpage containing a product name that you want to search on Amazon, highlight it with your mouse. Click the Blue accelerator button, then "Search items on Amazon.com". Note that if you did not make this the default accelerator for the category, you'll need to first select "All Accelerators", then "Search items on Amazon.com".
Amazon will then open as a new tab with the results of your search.
Press the "print" button on your browser or select "File" - "Print" to print this tip. Then, return to Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 - Search for Highlighted Products on Amazon
