SUMMARY: Search ESPN for sports information with an Internet Explorer 8 Search Provider.
Looking for more information about who hit the walk-off home run, who made the clutch three-pointer, the team that has the best chance of winning the soccer / football tournament, or the quarterback that made a crucial third down conversion?
By adding a search provider to Internet Explorer 8, you can directly search ESPN for sports news and information. Plus the search provider supports suggestions, allowing you to type in just part of a name and receive possible related queries.
First visit the following page from Internet Explorer:
http://www.ieaddons.com/en/details/news/ESPN_Search/
Click the "Add to Internet Explorer" button.
Adding the ESPN Search provider
The "Add Search Provider" dialog box appears. Confirm the information is correct. Check "Make this my default search provider" if desired. Uncheck "Use search suggestions from this provider" if you are concerned about privacy or do not want this feature. Then click the "Add" button.

Searching ESPN:
To search ESPN, first (unless you made ESPN the default search provider) click the "Search Options" button as seen in the screenshot to the right. Select "ESPN Search".
Now type your search query. If you have kept search suggestions enabled, matching searches will appear as you type. Press Enter or click a matching search query to see results on ESPN.
